There are three things to remember if you are making a recipe you have never tried before:

1) Don't forget a test cookie! You can figure out so much by just trying to bake one cookie.

2) Check your oven temperature. All ovens bake so differently. Sometimes you need to increase your oven temperature and sometimes you might need to reduce the temperature

*if you cookies are melting and spreading, try increasing your oven temperature by 25 degrees. But don't forget a test cookie!

3) Let the oven continue to heat at least 30 minutes after the desired temperature has been reached - some ovens pre-heat more slowly than others and need time to reach the full temperature.
